Proposal Tips

You’ve been dating for awhile (or not!). However long you’ve been together, something is telling you that your significant other is the one you want to stay with for the rest of your life. It’s time to propose.

Remember that when you are planning to propose to someone, the event is going to be remembered for the rest of both of your lives. It’s something that everyone in your circle of friends and family is going to ask about. Your kids and grandkids will ask, even some complete strangers will ask.

It’s just nice to have a good experience with the proposal for both of you to be able to tell. So here are some tips for proposing when the time is right.

Do keep the proposal a secret. Half the fun of a good proposal is taking someone off-guard. So if you need help planning the event, be careful who you share the details with! You don’t want someone spilling the beans before you!

Choose a location you want to remember. It would be great if you can incorporate a location that is a memory of one of your favorite dates with your significant other. Otherwise, beautiful scenery can create a lovely and memorable back drop. Just don’t propose with the ring on a bridge. Trust me, I know a guy who dropped a very expensive ring. Not a good memory.

Tips for Date Night

You hear time and time again that the longer a relationship goes, the harder it is to keep up with actual dates. This seems to be especially true if you and your significant other move in together or get married. Yet, dating is important. It’s not just something you do in the beginning. It’s what brought you two together.

Date night should be continued throughout your relationship, and honored as the tradition and ritual that helped you to fall in love in the first place. It’s a scheduled (or spontaneous) time to pay respect to your relationship and keep the intimacy and spark alive in your relationship.

If you’re hunting for some fresh ideas for date night, we’ve got some tips for you. Let’s start with a date for two at the aquarium. Remember the fun when you were in school and looking at all the fish? It’s still fun now that you’re older!

Another fun idea rooted in childhood—camp out in your own backyard! Set up a tent, a couple of snuggly sleeping bags, get some flashlights, and camp out. Tell each other scary stories and then zip the sleeping bags together and cuddle.

Our last fun date idea for tonight is a dessert date! Go to one of your favorite restaurants and just order dessert and maybe some drinks. It’s naughty, delicious, and good fun!
